Agency Motivaction has made 11 staff redundant as part of an internal restructure.

The restructure was necessary to improve performance, says Motivaction managing director.

The agency's managing director, David Buxton, said: "We undertook a complete review of our business in light of the general economic outlook, in order to achieve maximum working efficiency in the year ahead. This review was undertaken with the consultation of our team and resulted in the restructure of the business including 11 redundancies."

Buxton said the restructure had resulted in a number of benefits including improvements to client services processes and new account wins.

"We feel we are well placed to face the challenges in the coming months and are pleased that we are not over-reliant on any one client or any one industry sector," said Buxton.

"We anticipate that we will make a profit in 2008 and with a 20% reduction in overhead as we enter 2009, we are very confident that our sales targets are achievable and we will remain profitable."

The launch of environmentally and financially sustainable incentives backed by new IT infrastructure is among the agency's plans for 2009.
